The total number of fishing vessels in the world in 2016 was estimated to be about 4.6 million, most of them are small and medium sized fishing vessels. For small and medium sized fishing vessels, slurry ice seems to be one of the most important way to keep the catch fresh.
Slurry ice is a mixture of countless micron-sized spherical ice crystals and water. With incomparable advantages of adjusted temperature and concentration, slurry ice could be used in meat/seafood pre-processing, pre-cooling and cooling.
